Gus
Gus is the owner of Gus's Barber Shop and has been cutting hair since he was 19 years old. His mother was a hair dresser and would give Gus and his brothers haircuts in their kitchen when they were growing up. At a young age, Gus became interested in cutting hair and started giving his friends haircuts out of his bedroom. Gus was a barber at Sebastian’s Barber Shop in Roslindale for 5 years before starting a shop of his own. Gus opened Gus's Barber Shop in 1997 and it has been one of the most popular barber shops in the area. Gus's Barber Shop has a large following and has become a popular stop for players of the New England Patriots.
Mike
Mike is one of the most popular barbers at Gus's Barber Shop and is known as the guy who gives haircuts to players of the New England Patriots. Mike started cutting hair in Lebanon when he was just 19 years old and opened his own shop shortly thereafter. He considers cutting hair to be an art and is always coming up with styles. Mike’s clients are like his family; he knows everyone’s name and will pick up conversations where you last left off.
In 2012, Rob Ninkovich of the New England Patriots came in for a haircut and beard trim and sat down in Mike’s chair. Since then, he has cut hair for almost a dozen Pats players, and the list continues to grow.
Vanessa
Vanessa has been a barber for 24 years and has been with Gus's Barber Shop since 2013. She is a licensed cosmetologist and started out cutting and styling hair for women and men. After 5 years of cosmetology, Vanessa realized that she enjoyed cutting hair for men and shifted her focus exclusively to men’s haircuts. She earned her master barbers license and has been a barber ever since.
Derek
Derek has been a barber at Gus’s Barber Shop for 4 years and knew Gus from his days at Sebastian’s in Roslindale where Gus first started. Derek has always had a passion for cutting hair and loves seeing his customers happy after a fresh cut. After he hangs up his apron for the day you can find Derek enjoying his second passion, riding motorcycles.
